Camping at ForgeWood is about getting back
to nature and enjoying camping the old way. There are no Caravans or
electrical hookups, just the basics needed to make it a real break from
the technocrazy world we live in. You make your own space, light your
own fire, build your own shelters and give your kids the chance to run
free in the woods.
pitches in the woods or on the field. There is plenty of space and its
up to you how far you want to go. If you walk a little further you get
to find your own special space.

The season is now well under way and pitches are selling fast. While we have tried to sort the problems with toilets in Snag Acre they are proving intractible so for the time being it is the ghastly chemical toilets. But of course our main facilities are working pretty well although there will never be enough water at peak times. Please note that for busy weekends we will insist on a 2 night booking and 3 nights for the ABHW. Please book online!
The majority of our neighbours are extremely supportive of the campsite and we strive to make it work for everyone. We have to be explicit that campfires are at the managements discretion so if wind conditions are likely to cause a problem we can impose a curfew. Experience to date is that very sunny weather is accompanied by easterly drifts which is not good for fires. But very sunny weather is a rare commodity! For the time being the daytime curfew will remain in place.
The Bushcraft guys are back with more going on in the week during the holidays. There will be sessions in Fire Making, Spoon Carving, Foraging and Camp Fire cooking every Saturday and through the holidays from June. You can book directly with them at email@example.com if you have special requirements.
Watch this space and we hope to see soon
